It is the Christmas season again!
Time to rejoice and have a good time. But remember, Christmas is not about what we eat or wear. But a time to be charitable, show love and care for yourself as well as others around you. Christmas confirms God's love for us because it reminds us that God honoured the promise He made in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:15.
#What does Salvation mean?
Putting it simply, man fell into sin when Satan in the form of a serpent tempted Adam and Eve to rebel against their Creator. It opened the door to the evil the world has been experiencing since its creation. The evil and violence to life the earth faces daily--sickness, death, hatred, self-hate and loathing, murder, pride that leads to the denial and rejection of God. The list goes on and on.
As remedy for the evil done, God made a promise that He would punish Satan by making the declaration in Genesis 3:15, that the damage done by Satan would be put right by the Offspring of the woman. [Jesus dealt Satan a fatal blow by His death on the Cross.] The Enemy had hoped to turn us into God's enemies. But through Jesus' Blood, God brought us back into a relationship with Him if we believe in faith that His life was given in exchange for our death. Jesus, therefore, is the fulfilment of Genesis 3:15 and the promise God made to Abraham.
#The Verdict
All who believe that God through Jesus came into the world, died and resurrected to give them His life are saved from the curse of death that Satan pronounced upon the world. We have a new life through the Spirit of God's Son. Satan's grip over our lives is loosened. We are no longer slaves to his control and manipulations to sin.
The Good News of Christmas is that our lives are valuable to God, that He stooped to reconcile us back to Himself by becoming a Baby.
The power Satan wields upon the world today is a shadowy power that is operated through rebellious humans and spirits through well crafted 'inventions' and false religions, reason it calls for wisdom. Through the Cross of Jesus, the serpents head was crushed. As a spirit, he operates through his natural children--those who rule his secret kingdom on earth. [An understanding of Genesis 3:15 and Ephesians 6:10-20, is important].
#Stay Safe
Therefore, this Christmas make sure you stay safe because your life is precious. Christmas does not mean overspending and getting drunk, letting people influence you negatively. If you are going out with friends, make sure you wear the right foot wear. Don't put yourself in a compromising position. Value your life just as God valued you and gave His life to make you His child. By taking care of what you wear or do with yourself, you protect your life and health. Making decisions that keep you safe is your responsibility.
#Act Responsibly
When going out, make sure you are dressed right and wear shoes that are comfortable as you might need to walk a distance if you don't drive. Even if you drive, keep a comfortable shoe just in case you need one. Be mindful of the company you are out with. Ensure you support one another. Just as you want to put on shoes that are comfortable and give you the right support, ensure you are in a safe place, surrounded by people who support you and care about your wellbeing. It's not good to treat yourself carelessly in the name of being out to have fun, stay home if not sure of the company.
Our lives are valuable to God. He did not redeem us with the blood of animals, but with the precious Blood of His Son. Because that Baby was born to be a Sacrificial Lamb for the sins of the world. [In the Old Testament Scriptures, the Law of Moses' required animal sacrifices for sin.]
Whatever you do this Christmas, remember the price that was paid for your life. Love and respect yourself by showing you are grateful for God's love.
Shop around for foot wear that are comfortable and protect your feet.
Enjoy the season with a heart of thankfulness.
#Have a Merry Christmas!
