We sometimes underestimate the importance of food to our health and wellbeing.
For ancient cultures that depended on food, natural herbs and organically grown crops for health and healing, it is hard to see how in a generation that has so much information we seem to lack simple knowledge of how to prevent common colds and infections without constantly medicating.
When people give up on common sense abilities to promote personal health, the danger is in depending entirely on others which leaves them doing nothing early to prevent health breakdown through early intervention.
Cold for example can be prevented if good measures are in place by practicing daily habits that encourage health through good food and diet that build up the body with immunity to sicknesses and diseases by use of natural vitamins that are present in food.
#Food for Health
It is unfortunate to see the increase in the number of people suffering from diabetes and other ailments. The increase seems to come from a number of factors. As we become busier and able to get food more easily, even producing food in the Lab, which does not go through certain natural process that are necessary for forming health giving nutrients and vitamins that aid healing, protection and prevention, the world faces increase in sickness.
When God gave the farmer knowledge to grow seeds in the natural soil exposing the seeds to certain temperatures and season, it was not just for having something to fill the stomach but to have properties that the Maker alone could add to give strength and health. The Bible says that the Maker gives seed, waters and sees them grow.
What we should consider when making decisions is how generations that existed for thousands of years without medical facilities stayed healthy while we are unable in modern times to stay free from health challenging conditions that are claiming lives daily.
#Green Banana, Okro and Vegetables
There are diets that are common to Nigeria and are found in many parts of the world that if eaten in good quantity, help prevent illnesses such as diabetes and colds. Malaria for instance was treated with a variety of herbs which was used as tea in preventing sickness. Malaria is common in tropical temperatures as the mosquito that cause the illness breed easily due to the heavy rainfalls and thick vegetation.
People learned to recognise the signs and intervened before the body succumbed to the dangerously high temperature by using herbs.
#Fractures--Healing and Repair
There are herbs that my ancestors used in treating fractures. This beneficial knowledge was handed down to generations by families and many still use them as the organic properties outweigh the chemical content of available drugs. To hold the fracture in place, clay mixed with herbs was used or wood to keep the bone in place as the clay hardened.
In the instructions that God gave to Moses regarding eating and drinking, there are those to do with not eating blood or certain animals which if looked carefully, we are able to understand why quest for knowledge is driving humans to compromise by tampering with areas of life that might be dangerous. As the sanity of the human mind depends on the avoidance of certain actions which are an abomination to God we should re-examine some of our researches. Combining human blood with wild animal blood causes humans to loose their humanity and take on 'inhuman abilities'. We destroy humanity by this actions thereby giving rise to behaviours that are not controllable.
Instead of being intelligent and godly become primitive and animalistic.
This is where we find the dream of Nebuchadnezzar being fulfilled--Daniel 2:31-45.
May we not forget that power is not in us to do as we please as we cannot recreate ourselves but can only allow ourselves to be destroyed by those who care nothing about humanity.
Health must be protected for the future existence of humanity, for what makes us humans is the spirit that God gave in His creation, outside of that humans are beasts.
Jesus died to reconcile all humanity to the Living God through resurrection by the gift of His Holy Spirit.
